These principles have always characterized the work of the company and now they

The abbreviation ISO 14000 identifi es a series of international standards concerning
the environmental management. The abbreviation ISO 14001 (in Italian UNI EN ISO
14001:2004) identifi es one of these standards, that fi xes the requirements of a certifi able “system of environmental management”, i.e. it’s possible to get a certifi cate from
an acknowledged organization according to the requirements, which are included in
the abbreviation. It is not compulsory to certifi cate ISO 14001, but this is the voluntary
choice of the Amiata Marmi management, that decided to fi x/put into effect/maintain
active/improve an own system of environmental management in order to keep under
control the environmental impacts of its own activities and it searches systematically
the improvement of them in a coherent, effective and above all sustainable way. |

Eco-management and Audit Scheme (EMAS) is a voluntary instrument , that was
created by the European Community and the Amiata Marmi agreed voluntarily with
it to value and improve its own environmental services and to supply the clients and
the other interested customers with information about its own environmental management.
The aim of EMAS consists of promoting continuous improvements of the company
environmental services through the introduction and the realization of a system
of environmental management , that results from the system ISO 14001.
The quality and the selection of such accreditation is proved by the fact that in Italy
the registrations EMAS are only 714 (05/11/2007, from the list of the organizations that
are registered by APAT)
